If you’re looking for the perfect Christmas presents for coffee-lovers, look no further. Here at Joe’s, we stock a whole range of specialty coffee gear, so you will definitely find something suitable. This includes filters, grinders, scales and a range of different coffee makers.
You will find equipment from all the most respected and recognised brands worldwide, including:
And we also have gorgeous specialty coffee beans from our specialty coffee partner The Barn in Berlin. A couple of bags of these beans would make a coffee-lover very happy indeed!
If you’re not sure what you should buy, ask the baristas in our coffee shops in Arnotts Department Store on Liffey Street in Dublin 1 or on Montague Street in Dublin 2, just off Harcourt Street and they will be happy to advise.
Dublin specialty coffee shop Joe’s Coffee is open on Saturdays: our coffee shop on Montague Street, just off Harcourt Street, is open every Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
We do the full range of coffees, using specialty coffee beans from the renowned Barn out of Berlin, as well as teas from Lily’s Teas. To accompany these, we have some of the tastiest, freshly baked pastries in the city, all baked that day so they are as fresh as possible.
Then, when you’ve had your morning breakfast or brunch, we also do a range of gourmet hot sandwiches which come with your choice of salad.
Our super sourdough sandwiches include:
Club Med: hummus, olive tapenade, goat's cheese, roasted veg and butter
MC: turkey, ham, brie, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mayo and butter
New Yorker: pastrami, caramelised onion, emmental, cocktail sauce and butter
BGC: brie, cheddar, Durrus and Comté with spring onions and butter.
If you prefer a healthier brunch or lunch option, we also have some really gorgeous salads created for Joe’s by renowned Irish chef Domini Kemp.
These include:
Caesar Salad
Nicoise Salad
Asian Beef Sala
Asian Salmon Salad
Vegan Salad and
Korean Chicken Salad.
And finally, we have retail coffee beans from the Barn on sale and all the specialty coffee kit you could need, from world-famous brands such as Chemex, Kalita, Wilfa and many many more.
So drop by any Saturday. We’re off Camden St, at the Stephen’s Green end, just two minutes from the top of Grafton St in Dublin 2.
They’re here! The Joe’s reusable cups have arrived in all our specialty coffee shops in Dublin and are on sale now. And we think they look pretty cool. They are also another step on the road towards full sustainability: glass bottles, cutlery, reducing plastic, etc etc. It’s a gradual process but we’re getting there!
You’ll find the Joe’s branded ‘keep cups’ in Joe’s specialty coffee shops in Arnotts on Liffey Street in Dublin 1 and on Leeson Street and on Montague Street in Dublin 2.
And there’s more:
Our branded cups are good value and cheaper than a standard keep cup. They are made from the same reinforced glass.
Our branded cups have a removable rubber sleeve (unlike the cork sleeve keep cup) so the glass can go in the dishwasher. Note: the rubber lid and rubber sleeve should be washed by hand in tepid water.
Our branded cups are 100% Irish. Keep it local.
And you still get your discount, as part of the Conscious Cup campaign, in all Joe’s when using a keep cup, the Joe’s ones or otherwise.
And note that our ‘little sisters’ Alchemy Juice Co and Itsa Cafes also now have their own branded keep cups.
As you can see some really special flavours in these coffees, particularly the anaerobic Juanachute. We have one or two of these as house coffees and all as retail bags
You’ll find all these beans in our specialty coffee shops in Dublin on Liffey Street in Arnotts in Dublin and on Leeson Street and Montague Street in Dublin 2.
Staff cupping with the guys from The Barn is the favourite part of our job. We get to savour all the beautiful flavours in their specialty coffees.
This week we welcomed Alex who talked us through all the latest beans from The Barn which we will now have in store for you.
Specialty coffee is a constant learning process and with Ralf and the team from The Barn, we get the best training and refresher courses in everything from selecting farmers and growers to importing beans to roasting them and finally to brewing them for you.
And we love to share too, so if you have any questions, just ask your Joe’s barista . . .
It's time to start brewing at home and using your French press or whatever system you prefer. Many of us have kit at home and we don't use it . . . for many reasons:
1. We think we know how to use it but the results are not as expected, and we end up putting it away.
2. We have no idea which coffee to buy, where to buy it and how much of it to use.
This and many other reasons pushed us away from using our beautiful brewing devices. Join Roger for a hands-on workshop in Arnotts on Saturday July 6th from 10am-11am where you'll learn how to use your French press with gorgeous specialty coffee beans from The Barn! Discover why this brewing device is still popular among coffee aficionados, its beauty and how easy it is to use and to clean.
Places are free but limited so make sure you secure yours here on Eventbrite.
Any coffee equipment you buy in Joe’s Coffee on the day will also have a 20% discount!
Folks, Sunday (June 30th) was our last day in Dundrum Town Centre with another operator moving in there soon. We've loved being part of the centre and want to thank all our loyal customers for being so brilliant! And, of course, you'll still find us in Arnotts on Liffey Street in Dublin 1 and on Leeson Street and Montague Street in Dublin 2.
And, by the way, as part of our re-organisation, we're expanding and renovating our specialty coffee shop on Montague Street (just off Harcourt Street, near Stephen’s Green). So it will be closed from Monday, July 1st until Wednesday, July 3rd, reopening on Thursday, July 4th.
Sorry for any inconvenience!
But if you need your specialty coffee fix from The Barn, you will still find us over on Leeson Street, just off Stephen’s Green. We also have our range of smoothies and Alchemy Juice Co juices there too, as well killer sambos and super salads. So drop by while we get a makeover on Montague.
So thanks for patience and loyalty and see you on Leeson Street and Montague Street in the coming days!
Karla got a bag of coffee from Sumatra and she prepared it on her french press and drank it. The next day her friend Laura asked her "Karla, did you like the coffee?" and Karla said to Laura "Not really, it was bitter, the only way I kinda enjoyed it was when I added a lot of milk and five spoons of sugar"*
If this has happened to you before, then this course in our specialty coffee shop in Arnotts Dublin is for you. Come and join us, it will be fun, you'll learn how to use your french press, how to prepare a tasty coffee at home, plus you'll get 20% off any coffee equipment you buy!
It's a complimentary session, and the good news is that if you can't make it to the first session at 10:00 am then you can book your seat for the second session at 17:30! No need to attend both sessions since we will be covering the same information in both of them.
It’s free but secure your spot here on Eventbrite as spaces are limited.
Thanks so much to all who came along to our home-brewing workshop on Monday in Arnotts Department Store. It was a great success and you were all lovely. Great to share our passion for specialty coffee with you and to taste some of those wonderful beans from The Barn!
And sorry to all those who missed out, but the GOOD NEWS? We'll be doing more! Watch this space . . .
